Change management

Change management is disciplined adaptation. The BA helps the organization understand why a change is needed, what it affects, which options exist, who decides, and how the approved outcome is communicated and verified.

01 · CORE LESSON

Build the mental model.

Enable useful change while protecting value, quality, budget, timelines, and shared understanding.

Capture the request, source, timing, urgency, business reason, intended outcome, and consequence of doing nothing. Do not treat a proposed solution as the only possible response.

  • Ask what new evidence or condition triggered the request.
  • Identify affected users, rules, processes, systems, and commitments.
  • Confirm whether it is a correction, enhancement, compliance need, or scope change.
